Spring into Creativity ~ 3/11/13 Baby Tie Onesies
Baby Tie Onesies

I found this very simple and great idea when researching how to make freezer paper stencils. I made my own template by taking a piece of card stock and placing it on the blank onesie and then drew the basic outline in pencil. When I was happy with that I drew the outline in sharpie. I then took a ruler and created vertical lines to allow for two different colors. I then cut out two stencils with my x-acto knife on freezer paper, one for each set of stripes. After ironing the freezer paper onto the onesie, I painted the black first. I then let it dry overnight, though a few hours would probably be enough. Then I taped on the other freezer paper stencil, as I was worried ironing it on would pull up the paint already there. (If anyone has experience on that, I would love to know!) Then I used painters tape to cover the edges of the freezer paper, so the paint wouldn't leak beneath. After painting the 2nd color I let them dry overnight again and then pulled off the tape and I was impressed at how cute they turned out!
