Spring into Creativity ~ 3/6/13 Painted Wine Glasses

Painted Wine Glasses

Painting glass is very easy and can be a cheap and fun way to spruce up any glasses or vases!

I decided to go with a two tone basic pattern, but with a steady hand or stencils I am sure some great designs could be used as well. You can paint all the glasses the same and create a set, or use different colors as I did so then they can be differentiated while being used. This is a fun alternative to the wine tags and such that are becoming popular.

After painting your glass then place them in the oven on a cookie sheet and turn on the oven to 350 degrees. Leave the glass in the oven while it preheats, and after 30 minutes turn off the oven. You'll want to leave the glass in the oven until they cool completely, at least another 30 minutes.

Obvious safety precautions: I wouldn't recommend painting on the lip of the glass. Handle with care while they're in the oven as they do become very hot. Also, I hear they are dishwasher safe, but I have yet to test it myself.

Supplies:
+ Wine Glasses (I got mine from the dollar store, can of course use any type of glassware.)
+ Acrylic Paints & Paintbrush
+ Oven
