Spring into Creativity ~ 3/8/13 Spring Wreath

Spring Wreath

To prepare for Spring I always like to put up a wreath and decided this year I wanted to make a new one. I was inspired by this Pinterest Post, and although I couldn't find the green FunFur at my local Michael's, I went with a different pastel color theme instead.

The first step is the most time consuming, which is wrapping the yarn around the foam ring. This is a great time to craft and watch a movie! ;)

After wrapping you can add on Ribbon to hang it from. My yarn didn't quite cover my foam ring, so I used the ribbon to cover the blank spot. (For the record I used a 12" Ring and 2 skeins of yarn. I had looked for a smaller 8" Ring, but they didn't have one at the craft store I went to.)

The final step is adding the embellishments. I found spring flower bundles at Michales for 50% off and took the heads of about half of each bundle for the wreath. I also found a set of 3 little butterflies that were in the floral decorating section. It was easy to pin the butterflies and flower tops into the foam ring, although they should probably be hot glued to ensure stability.

 Supplies I used:
(Everything is optional, and you can customize or change anything to create your custom wreath!)
+ Foam Ring/Wreath
+ FunFur (You could make a different look with regular yarn, but the FunFur gives it a furry/grassy type look)
+ Plastic Flower Bundle
+ Any other floral department decorations such as little foam butterflies, birds, etc.
+ Ribbon
